This genuine Patek Philippe 3970E Grand Complication is in excellent collector condition for a vintage timepiece of it's age. Comes with, original Patek Philippe box, and certificate of origin (dated 1991), Patek Pusher, and original Patek 18kt yellow gold solid screwdown caseback. *the E in the 3970E stand for "Etanche" translating from French to English for "Waterproof" which indicates this Patek case is water resistant, a first of it's kind for the time. The 3970E is quite a rare version of all 3970 production series noting approximately 650 of all second series 3970s ever made between 1987 to 1991 in all case metals. Other delineating features of the 3970 second series outside of the screwdown caseback include, like the first series, feuille hands and has squared baton hour markers. Other features include calendar disks with a “typewriter” font, as well as crisp Hallmarks engraved on the outside of the lugs, which are only present specifically on second series models produced from 1990 & 1991 making a rare model even rarer. This particular watch features an original 18kt yellow gold Patek Philippe tang buckle.
