*Shreve, Crump & Low Graduate Gemologist commentary: The term Padparadscha (Pad-pa-raj-sha) is derived through the German language from padmaragaya (padma = lotus, raga = color), the yellow-pink-peach colored Oriental Lotus flower.  As the unique color of this sapphire is liken to that of a freshly blossomed Lotus flower.
